My friend Lazarus lives in Soweto together with 4 million others and is worried about the crime level in the country.
”It is much better in Botswana. That’s a good country, very diciplined. If you kill someone, they will kill you. If you steal, they cut off your hand. If you kill someone in South Africa you are out the next day. If you rape someone, you’ll be walking down the street the next day. That’s bad. Everyone is afraid to die, even the criminals. Much better in Botswana. If I say, let’s go and kill that person then someone would come after me and kill me. They even come and arrest you i SA and bring you back to Botswana. That’s very good. Almost no crime in Botswana. Very diciplined.”
